Winter/Spring

Jan 27, Feb 17, March 17, April 28, May 19, June 9

Fridays 5pm-10pm

All 6 sessions = $240 or $50/session.  First 16 to register for each date will attend, and those that sign up for the full 6 sessions receive priority.

Please register ASAP: this program had a long wait list for the December event.
Location:  January and February sessions will be at Foundation of Light, school House and the woods beyond . . .
391 Turkey Hill Rd, Ithaca, NY 14850
March-June sessions, Locations TBA
Mentors: Marina Stevenson, Pierce Walsh
Coed program for ages 12 and up
Arrive at 5:00 pm and share some of the things we are grateful for, in spite of our busy lives. Hike out to a “village” spot in the woods, set up a tarp if it’s rainy and get a fire started via friction with bowdrill, handrill or flint and steel, and share some food and maybe a tasty treat. Then we may go on a night hike, play a high energy night activity, and play games and songs around the fire. Later in the evening we will leave time for the group to engage in deeper conversation. For example, instructors may pose a question such as, “How do you deal with stress and anxiety?” Stories, strategies and conversations follow. At the end of the evening we clean up camp, pack up our gear and head back down the trail to meet parents.

Adult Night Hawks

Winter/Spring

Jan 27, Feb 17, March 17, April 28, May 19, June 9

Fridays 5:15 pm-9:45 pm

All 6 sessions = $180 or $35/session.
5:15 – 9:45pm, these two events are timed to allow parents with teens in the parallel program to drop off and pick up teens at another location, which provides space/distance between the two programs.
Location:  January and February sessions will be at Foundation of Light, school House and the woods beyond….
391 Turkey Hill Rd, Ithaca, NY 14850
March-June sessions, Locations TBA
Mentor: Julie Nichols Kulik, Monica Bosworth, and other mentor/guests.
Are you looking for a more ‘ active’ activity for Friday nights? Time to connect with the natural world and with each other through talking stick circles and games? We will start the evening by gathering together to give thanks, then head out to the woods to create a fire circle, and make a soup together.  While the soup is cooking, we can work on skills and crafts (fire building, shelter building/tarp hanging, coal burning, whittling), as well as playing games together and sharing songs.
We will also be exploring “Loosing our Minds and Coming to Our Senses” by bringing on our Owl eyes, Fox Walks and night time sit spots.

A Note about Location:

This program will be running parallel to a teen program (Night Owls), but we will be in an area separate from the teens.  The January/February sessions will be on the land behind the Foundation of Light in Ellis Hollow. The March-June sessions will be in locations around 15 minutes from Ithaca TBA (also in the relative same location as the Teen Night Owl program)
