Earth Arts Homeschool Program
The Earth Arts Homeschool Program (Formerly known as The Lantern Program) offers homeschooled children an opportunity to be a part of a community that emphasizes learning through a connection to the natural world and socialization through play.
Small class size is just one way that children receive education focused on their unique needs.
When focusing on core academics, our mixed age group is broken down in smaller skill-based learning groups. Students are presented with skill-appropriate materials and can learn and excel at their own pace.
The Waldorf-inspired curriculum moves the children through a predictable daily rhythm that includes academics (math, language arts, social studies, science) and handwork, and music.
The Home School Program meets from 9 am – 3 pm on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Enrollment Calendar for ’22-‘23
We are asking that all families that were “enrolled” in ’19-‘20 programs (or expressed an interest to be enrolled) make a commitment for ’21-’22 by April 7, 2021. A $150 deposit will be due at this time and a First and Last month payment (minus the deposit) is due on June 15 to secure a spot for your child.
Applications from new families will be accepted beginning April 8. Slots will be filled in the order applications are received, with preference given to applications that help to balance the classroom for gender, age, and temperament.
Tuition
Tuition for the 2022-2023 school year is on a sliding scale, $47-$51 per day. This is $320 – $347 per month. Please pay what your family can afford as funds over the minimum are applied to student scholarship and providing high-quality programing. Thanks so much for your support!
Location
Slaterville Springs, NY, on a piece of land called Frosty Hollow. The Earth Arts Tiny House lives here, stocked with microscopes, field guides, and art supplies and will be our research center. We will have 23 acres for exploring; including woods, 2 ponds, wild apple trees, an apple orchard, huge vegetable garden, and a quiet stream and bridges meandering through a Fairy Village. Located 9 miles east of center Ithaca. There will also be an indoor shelter, with wood stove heat for inclement weather.
